Although yesterday was Monday, it was actually a really good day. I know you must be thinking “how on earth can a Monday be good?!”. And the reason for it is:
I didn’t have to go to school!
I did however have to wake up at 6am for a 7:30am departure from my school in Kettering to Central London with my AS Politics class. The journey long and full of the usual gossip, singing and laughter. After around 2 hours we arrived in Parliament Square, London.
The day consisted of:
A look into The Supreme Court, which was rather interesting and I learnt a lot of new things, although our guide spoke incredibly fast and asked a lot of questions, to which we would all just nod or shake our heads to answer.
Followed by a lunch break in which a group of us decided to walk to a McDonalds near Trafalgar Square in the pouring rain, followed by a brief visit to Waterstones (where I bought the Pointless Book!!)
Then back to Parliament Square for a tour of the House of Lords and Commons. To my surprise, the House of Commons is a lot smaller than it looks on TV, and the House of Lords is incredibly fancy! Sadly we had to leave our bags in a box that was to be locked away at the start of the tour so I don’t have any photos inside of the building.
All in all, it was a good day and enabled me to become closer to people in my politics class!
