I know it has been a long time since I last wrote on here and I apologise for that. There are a few reasons why I haven’t been so active; the first and probably most important reason, is school.
Lately I have been feeling the pressure of sixth form life and I have found myself spending a lot more time stressing about working and revising. The closer we get to exam period, the more stressed I feel. A Levels are made out to be so incredibly important and if you don’t do well, you are going to fail at life… Now I know that isn’t true and I talked about this in one of my previous blogs – http://LifeOfPree.co.uk/mocks (feel free to check it out) but I tend to set myself big goals, which sometimes aren’t realistic but I want to achieve them nonetheless. And when I don’t, it annoys me for a very long time.
Another reason I haven’t blogged in a while is because I haven’t felt that drive to write.
On my previous post about India’s Daughter, I received a comment (which is not visible to the public) from Aaj Tak News in India, telling me to take down the post. It made me question to what extent I can actually write freely on this blog.
A part of the comment reads “Remove this blog instantly, our legal services will be in touch with you very soon.”
I did do some research into Aaj Tak and discovered that they have no right to tell me to take down a post, and it was fine for me to keep it up but it was the fact that somebody, whoever they are, basically told me I don’t have the right of freedom of speech. Also, it has been almost a month, and no one has contacted me.
I know that India’s Daughter has caused controversy across the UK and India, but I don’t understand how removing my not-so-well-known blog post about it was going to solve anything.
But anyway, enough of the negativity.
I am going to try to blog at least once a fortnight now, I thought I’d be a bit more lenient as exam time approaches!
Also, LifeOfPree is almost at 5,000 views! I cannot thank everyone enough for being so supportive and sharing my blog with other people! See you soon.
